The Talented People of Ridgeway Rise

Christmas performances at Ridgeway Rise

All of our residents and staff at Ridgeway Rise Care Home have some fantastic talents, and some of them chose to showcase them at our talent show this month.

Our care home is full of people with special talents, so we decided to give the residents and staff of Ridgeway Rise a platform to showcase them with our very own 'Ridgeway Rise has Talent'.

The event saw both residents and team members getting involved and sharing their extraordinary skills. Our Deputy Manager, Vali, blew us away with his speedy Rubiks cube solving, whilst Colin transformed into a clown and had everyone crying with laughter with his comedy of mishaps.

Bonnie, from our kitchen team, stunned everyone with her beautiful singing voice, something that no one at the home knew about her, and Cristi our Unit Manager also impressed with his fantastic football tricks. Some nurses and carers even got together to put on a dance performance for us all.

We were all then treated when a few of our residents decided to showcase their talents too. Marie did a fantastic rendition of 'Que Sera Sera' and Joe recited a poem with such passion; it's safe to say that we all felt very touched and emotional by these talents, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Everyone had a really great day, and it was wonderful to showcase that care has many different faces. In addition to providing daily care, support, and activities, our teams really do strive to look after our resident's general wellbeing and have fun together as a community.

Not only were we able to give staff and residents a voice and an opportunity to show off more of their personalities with our talent show, but it was also a great opportunity for everyone to learn new facts about each other, and gain a better understanding of people's strengths and interests.

Residents were able to see that behind the nurse's and carers' uniforms were entertainers, artists, and friends.

It was a great exercise that has strengthened the bonds in our home and made us closer as a community.
