Resident and Staff Doing Flower Arranging

Arts & Crafts

Partaking in group activities is the perfect way to learn new skills and socialise. Our Activities Coordinators work hard to ensure there is something enticing for our residents to put their hand to, including Arts & Crafts sessions. From painting and drawing through to flower arranging there is always an array of craft options for residents to enjoy.

Being creative has a plethora of mental and physical benefits for residents; combined with the social aspect attending group sessions offers, residents can make the most of the multiple benefits attending these sessions can have.

Psychological Benefits

We believe that the therapy of art, in its various forms, can improve the quality of life for the elderly. Our Activity Coordinators strive to produce an engaging and varied Activities Programme where all residents can participate and flourish. Sharing arts and crafts activities can also be beneficial in building relationships between residents, staff, friends, family and the wider community. Our Arts & Crafts sessions present a whole host of benefits and our staff witness the psychological benefits this type of group activity can have.

Arts & Crafts FAQs

Our Activity Coordinators strive to present residents with variation of projects in our Arts & Crafts classes. From making paper tissue poppies to display on Remembrance Sunday through to making a seasonal collage, each session has a different theme and a variety of art and craft types are used. All residents have access to a variety of creative activities and equipment is supplied.

Your creation is your own; you are welcome to proudly display your artwork in your room or give it as a present to a loved one. Residents are also given regular opportunities to display their work around the home for all residents, visitors and staff to admire.

The care home fee that you pay covers the cost of all of the activities residents participate in within the care home. Art supplies are also included within the care home fee.
