Egg Hunts & Easter Treats
We recently had a fantastic week of Easter celebrations, ranging from arts & crafts to games, and of course lots of chocolate and treats.
During the week, the residents engaged in lots of crafts sessions where they painted chicks onto stones from the garden and created Easter cards decorated with flowers and butterflies for their fellow residents, staff, and loved ones. We also gathered flowers for the residents to create headpieces for them to wear, to really get into the spirit of Spring!
The residents also got involved with lots of games such as Easter bingo and a ring toss with the aim to get the hoops over the bunny's ears. Our staff even created a lucky dip which went round to all the residents in the home and they got to pick out an Easter treat for themself.
On Easter Sunday itself, the weather was glorious and so we took our festivities outside. We held egg hunts, where the staff hid eggs all around the garden for our residents to find, and then our residents did the same for our staff! It was great for everyone involved and there were lots of laughs shared as everyone competed to find their chocolate eggs.
We then enjoyed the sunshine outside with some refreshments from the drinks trolley and a hot cross bun. Residents and staff took the time to sit back, enjoy each other's company, and share stories about their Easter traditions.
At Ridgeway Rise Care Home, we believe it is important to celebrate all occasions, no matter how big or small. By doing so, our residents can maintain traditions that are special to them, as well as have something to look forward to. Each occasion brings another opportunity for our residents to socialise, enjoy themselves and make memories.
